Alan’s introduction to the martial arts came at the age of 10, when he attended his local Karate and Judo classes. More than 30 years later, Alan has achieved a 6th Dan in Kempo-Karate and a 4th Dan in Ju-jitsu as well as instructor levels in Tai Chi Chuan and Kick-Boxing, all of which represent decades spent learning and teaching the long-forgotten principles behind Japanese and Chinese martial arts.
All of the systems taught at Tsubokai Martial Arts, whether for self defence, health or fitness use methods that are seldom taught elsewhere in modern martial arts. These forgotten methods are what make the difference when it comes to building your strength, speed, stamina and power so whether it's the ability to protect yourself on the streets or just to improve your health and increase your fitness, Tsubokai's classes will produce better results, often in a shorter timescale than the mainstream commercial classes.
“Many systems are watered down to widen their appeal and drive up class sizes. This is the main reason why modern martial arts are lacking in the respect they deserve.
“Come and see what we do at Tsubokai and you’ll have the opportunity to learn a highly effective system at your own pace and, more importantly, possibility of progressing to a level of competence you won’t find anywhere else.”
